Commissions
If you’re interested in a custom piece inspired by my work, I’d be glad to hear from you. I accept a limited number of commissions each year, including portraits and other subjects. Each piece is created using the medium that best suits the subject, from charcoal and pastel to watercolor or oil paint. If you have an idea in mind, feel free to reach out and we can discuss the details.

How Commissions Work
- Once I’ve learned more about the subject, size, and medium, I will provide an estimate for the total cost of the piece.
- If you decide to move forward, a 33% deposit is required before I begin preliminary sketches or reference planning.
- After the sketch or concept is approved, a second installment of 33% is due before work continues on the final piece.
- The remaining balance is due once the finished artwork is complete and ready for delivery.
- Artwork will be released or shipped once the final balance has been paid in full.
Commission Types
- Commissions may include portraits, figurative work, and select custom pieces inspired by my body of work.
- Both individual pieces and more personal, long-term projects may be considered depending on scope, timing, and availability.
- Medium, scale, and overall direction will be discussed based on the subject and the goals of the piece.
Subject Matter
- My commission work is best suited to portraiture, figurative subjects, and emotionally driven imagery.
- I am especially drawn to pieces that focus on striking contrast, vibrant colors, and strong lighting.
- Commissions may be approached realistically or with a more interpretive, imaginative quality, depending on the concept.
Mediums
- Pieces may be created in charcoal, pastel, watercolor, or oil, depending on what best suits the subject.
- The chosen medium will be determined through discussion, based on the mood, detail, and overall feel desired for the final work.
Timing & Availability
- I accept a limited number of commissions each year.
- Timing depends on the scale of the piece, the medium, and my current schedule.
- Estimated timelines will be discussed before the project begins.
Artist Biography
I grew up in Lexington, MA and studied Graphic Design at Rochester Institute of Technology in NY. I’ve been working as a graphic designer for the past 35 years, and run a 24 year-old web design agency called Metropolis Creative. I’ve also taught classes at Northeastern University and Bentley University.
