One of my all-time favorite musicians, Hope Sandoval has been performing since the late ’80s, and still does on occasion. She’s originally from Santa Clara, CA. I was able to “see” her a couple of years ago at Brooklyn Steel, I put it in quotations because the performed her entire set with the lights off. She’s very shy and never seemed to welcome the fame that followed her, but her voice is still the same.

Her music is soulful and beautiful. I love to listen to her when I’m painting.

Poor quality – but I love this performance of her. Imagine sitting on the roof listening to this!

The Pixies

My first introduction to the Pixies was probably when I was working in a movie poster store (Pix Poster Cellar) in Harvard Square in the late 80’s. They were formed in Boston in ’86.
